Audio Diary is built on a simple principle: your diary is yours alone. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how it is used, and why you can trust the App with your most personal thoughts.
The App does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party. All data created within the App stays exclusively on your device.
Voice recordings are stored as .m4a files in your phone's private app storage. They are only accessible within the App and are deleted permanently when you delete an entry or uninstall the App.
The App requires the RECORD_AUDIO permission solely to capture your diary entries. This permission is never used for any other purpose.
Transcription is powered by the Vosk speech recognition engine, which runs entirely on your device. No audio is sent to any external server. Vosk operates fully offline and does not require an internet connection.
AI insights are generated using a local rule-based system that analyses your transcription text on-device. There is no connection to any AI cloud service. Your diary text is never used to train any model.
The App requests the CAMERA permission to allow you to attach photos and short videos to diary entries. Photos and videos are stored in the App's private storage and are never shared or uploaded.
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain device information to serve relevant ads, including device advertising ID, device model and OS version, app interaction data, and approximate location at country/region level.
This is the only data that leaves your device, controlled entirely by Google's privacy policy. You can opt out under Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation in your device settings.

The App requests the POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission to send optional daily reminder notifications. Notifications are generated locally and do not involve any network request.
You can delete all your data at any time:
There is no account to delete because there is no account.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
